I am an ophthalmic technician working part time in a hospital in Cambridge. I live with my partner. I have a daughter who lives away from me. She is very artistic and I miss and love her a lot. 

My mum has always been painting. When I was little, I took her brush and added a flower bud to her painting, while she had gone to get a cup of tea. Obviously, my addition looked out of place! She looked at it and praised me. 

She said that we did the painting together. That was the moment I realised that I feel comfortable to have a go at what I don't know! She inspired me to be creative. My art comes from my heart. It makes me happy. I hope it makes you happy too. 

I live in south Cambridge. My studio is nearby where I spend so much time that I lose track of time! I am self-taught and experiment a lot with some success and some failure! It is all good. 

In a world where we are told how to live, how to dress, what to eat, what job to choose, etc., one thing that can't be dictated to us is creativity because it comes from the heart and emotions. It is very personal and private. We should all feel free to explore our emotions. That way, we soon find a whole community of free-spirited people!
